CARF is an accreditation body for service providers with a goal of promoting quality. Is it a private nonprofit organization that develops and maintains current standards such as the behavioral health standards manual, in addition to other standards for various types of rehabilitation organizations. CARF recognizes those organizations that undertake accreditation and demonstrate commitment to the continuous improvement of their programs and services. CARF surveys organizations seeking accredation via a consultative peer-review process. The focus is on the needs and outcome of persons served.
- What is the client to staff ratio
- What are the Credentials of the staff members "ask to look at them"
- DO the staff members have First AId or Suicide Prevention
- DOES THE CENTER HAVE SAFETY/EMERGENCY RESPONSE PROCEDURES IN PLACE
- Walk around the Center are there any chemical or dangers present
- Do they have an accident & incident investigation policy & subsequent corrective action plan.
- How many staff are on the night shift and what is their routine & credentials
- How close is the nearest medical facility in case of emergency
- What is the daily routine
- Are clients always with a staff member for outings ie. meetings ect.
- Is there any family interaction
- Is there a follow up program with the clients after completion
- What is the refund policy
- If clients are detoxing at Treatment center is there a Registered Nurse or Doctor on site at all times duing detoxification
